GTK UVC Video Viewer

I installed the latest version of GTK UVC Video Viewer and it is not working like it should? This is the second time I installed it, the first time was directly from the Software Center, the second time was from the Website to the Software Center. What was wrong with both was the re was no picture from the web cam such as my homely mug just a black space. Do I need something else to make it work? Any help would be appreciated?

According your post, you have a logitech and the video driver is loaded.
The ubuntu site indicate the issue with "cheese", which I had, too.
You use the programm "guvcview", correct?

with google "driver for 046d:0829" you find few posts with persons who had issues.
Have a look is one of the problem solving is there for you.
here ? http://forums.opensuse.org/english/g...bcam-c110.html
Connect the video after boot?
Issue with the sound? disconnect the sound ability at boot? (with a boot code)

Well floppy_stuttgart,

My logitech web cam is not supported for the Linux UVC. I do have the Guvcview program. I can take photos using Cheese Webcam Booth but no videos. Strange but at one time, not so long ago I could using the GTK UVC Video Viewer and was able to create videos and photos, the whole nine yards. Now, Bupkiss,, I would like to be able to get it to work regardless of whether it is supported or not.
