gnome-session problems under 8.10
I can't find anything at all about this on the forums.
System > Preferences > Sessions > Session Options
offers `Remember currently running applications'.
I've been using this since 7.10 to remember my terminals
but it's not working under 8.10.
I use 8 workspaces with terminals in 7 of them (FF in the other)
and each runs a different profile, so I can see at a glance where
I am. (I live on command lines amap.) It'll be a real pest if I have
to start this all up manually each logon.
I checked that gnome-session is installed. The version number changed
from 2.20.1 in 8.04 to 2.24.1 in 8.10
Under ~/.gnome2/ there's no session directory. And no ~/.gnome/
Running gnome-session on the command line produced
WARNING: Failed to acquire org.gnome.Sessionmanager
Running gdmsetup didn't provide any relevant options.
Can anyone suggest what to try? I really rely on this feature.
TIA, Mak
