getting microphone (ALSA) to input into anything


for some reason i cannot get my microphone (that i know works fine and had working in 7.4) to input into any progs in 7.10

my mixer settings are as follows (the mike is plugged into mic)

still no luck and i have tryed allmost every conbination of settings

this is strange as it worked with feisty no problem
