Unhappy Fresh Edgy install: cannot change "open with" settings

Hi, I have recently done a fresh reformat and install of edgy after some problems with an upgrade from dapper, I've put my music back on my laptop, but now I cannot right click and change the "open with" settings. When I right click on an mp3, goto Properties > Open With I can click on say, XMMS and it highlights orange, but the radio button won't change from "Movie Player" which is totem.

As you may agree, not the best choice to play a few tracks. I can right click and choose "open with" and select XMMS and it plays fine, but it's just odd that I can't do it with music or video's.

Any help would be much appreciated.

*EDIT*: I've just discovered that it is also the same with tick boxes in "Menu Layout".

Hmm you should file a bug, that doesn't sound normal.
