forced install oss now it wont uninstall

I had oss upand running but then it expired so I had reinstall. The lastest version comes in deb/rpm. Thes source wasn't in the list. It gave me a load of errors saying files are missing. So I used the --force-all with dpkg. Now it wont uninstall. Everytime I try installing a deb it says oss-linux need to be reinstalled.

Well give me a break am not familar with linux:D

I'm using dapper with default kernel.

sh: /usr/lib/oss/scripts/restore_drv.sh: No such file or directory
dpkg: warning - old pre-removal script returned error exit status 127
dpkg - trying script from the new package instead ...
sh: /usr/lib/oss/scripts/restore_drv.sh: No such file or directory
dpkg: error processing oss-linux_v4.0rc2-179_amd64.deb (--install):
subprocess new pre-removal script returned error exit status 127
Building OSS Modules for Linux-x86_64 2.6.15-23-amd64-generic
/var/lib/dpkg/info/oss-linux.postinst: line 3: cd: /usr/lib/oss/build: No such file or directory
sh: install.sh: No such file or directory
Starting Open Sound System
cat: /usr/lib/oss/version.dat: No such file or directory
/usr/lib/oss/etc/devices.list: No such file or directory
No /usr/lib/oss/etc/installed_drivers - cannot continue
dpkg: error while cleaning up:
subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 10
Errors were encountered while processing:
oss-linux_v4.0rc2-179_amd64.deb

pretty sure it was the same output as above.

Use apt-get to (re)install alsa.

Though there is a good chance that forcing the OSS install has messed things up.

i deleted all the files within the dpkg directory then it shutup lol. But just out of curusity how would I solve this

root@ubuntu:/home/s# apt-get install oss-linux
Reading package lists... Done

Package oss-linux is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package oss-linux has no installation candidate

oss-linux has been obsoleted.
What's wrong with alsa?
