If you want flash to work in Firefox (or Konqueror) just go to a website that requires you to have flash and when it tells you that you need plugins just tell it to install the plugins. You probably want the Adobe Non-Open Source player. It should install. I think there is also a package called "mozilla-plugin-nonfree" or something like that which synaptic can install. You can also check on the adobe website and install flash manually. If you want to make it so VLC Media Player can play flash video files, well, it ordinarily can do so by default. If you want to download like youtube videos in FLV format you can do so with
this extension for firefox then just download them and use VLC to play them.
