firefox 2.0 Floating Point Exception (core dumped) error on Ubuntu 6.10

Hello guys..

I've got a problem, firefox 2.0 suddenly won't start and give "Floating Point Exception (core dumped)" error.. i've tried running it on console with "firefox -safe-mode" but still i get the same error message..

I just don't get it.. firefox is running well before.. but now suddenly it wont start.

Please tell me what's wrong.. any help would be appriciated..

Thank You

If FF was working fine before and you didn't update/upgrade anything you simply may have a corrupt file somewhere. If that's the problem then you can try to rename the directory. The location would be /home/username/.mozilla/firefox/something.default

rename the folder something.default by doing mv something.default something.default.test

Launch Firefox and see if it works. If it works you can add back in your themes and extensions one by one and see if it still works.
