few questions about Ubuntu 9.10

Hello,
I have few questions about Ubuntu 9.10.

1. Ubuntu clears /tmp folder at system restart? I forgot some files there and I didn't found them after restart.

2. How to set up my system to not ask for a password to mount my partitions?

Thanks

what has to do your answer with my second question?
I don't want to activate root login, I only want to not enter a password when i mount partitions from my other hard drives. I have a 40gig hdd where my system is installed, and two other hdd's each with two partitions; so when i mount these partitions it keeps asking me for password

Default build directory is /home/'username'/
e.g. /home/'username'/tmp/

" /tmp/ " should not be used for anything.
Which files are we talking about ?
Ubuntu default : clears /tmp/ .
.....
.....
Launching / mounting another partition :
By default it will mount in /media/ and require passwd.
Neither do I know an easy method to change the policy.

Suggest : sudo mkdir /mnt/sdXx e.g. sudo mkdir /mnt/sdb12

.. And add lines in /etc/fstab : sudo gedit /etc/fstab
Code:
/dev/sdb12 /mnt/sdb12 ext3 user,noauto 0 0
This is very important : Hit <Enter> at the line end !

Now you can add a Launcher / Icon to open sdb12 :
no password required.
.....

" psycho cats " has a solution too, more complicated, I think :

.....

I was talking about tmp folder from /
I had a folder with some text files and few mp3's.

Last time I tried to automount partitions in mnt folder, Ubuntu never shows them under Computer to see them all there. I need to mount them under /media.

ntfs-3g is still the filesystem type for ntfs with write support?

sudo apt-get install pysdm and use it to set it to automount at boot.

the files in /tmp are usually cleaned by a cron.
