Fedora ate my Dapper- GRUB Issues

Hi All,

I have a computer with 3 hard drives. HDA is WinXP, HDE is Dpper and HDG is FC3. This morning I just had XP and Dapper installed; dual booting with GRUB, no problems. A few hours ago I installed FC3 on HDG. When the grub setup option came, it only recognized FC3 and XP. I entered Dapper manually as HDE1 during the FC3 graphic install. After installation and reboot, the FC3 grub only saw itself and XP. How can I get into GRUB to get it to see Ubuntu?

ps- I've tried manually entering ubuntu as hde1 and hde3, grub fails to load either.

Thanks,

ab

Easiest way is to just copy the applicable bits from the Dapper menu.lst (on HDE).
Paste it into FC - adjusting disk/partition references as necessary.

Linux installers (like Anaconda) really should recognise other Linux installs already on disk.

Well, I ended up just reinstallng dapper on hde1 (it was a new inbstall anyway). Now I have an open hard drive, hdg. I'm thinking about using it as storage. I'm new to this but am wondering if I can just format the drive as ext3 from my dapper drive and just mount it and transfer backup files. Never done this though and am looking for a good HOWTO if it can be done. Can anyone nudge me in the right direction?

Thanks,

ab

ps- always wanted to give suse a try. Maybe I'll do that ;-)
