Exim4 Alias problems.
I recently just moved our mail over from a Debian machine however it seems that our /etc/aliases file is no longer working. Doing a exim -bt info@mydomain.com shows the following:
root@love:/etc/exim4# exim -bt info@mydomain.com R: dnslookup for mydomain_info_alias@mydomain.com LOG: MAIN remote host address is the local host: machinehostname (while routing <mydomain_info_alias@machinehostname>) info@mydomain cannot be resolved at this time: remote host address is the local host Did I miss something with copying over the files from the Debian machine. Research on google told me that exim4 does not honor pipe requests in /etc/aliases. Anyone know of a link/URL that might help me resolve this? |
Hi
Just resolved the same problem. When prompted for the mail name for this system, you need to apply only the domain and not the host. i.e fuzzy.com rather then mail.fuzzy.com you should be able to run dpkg-reconfigure exim4-config to get access to this hth |
