Take a look at the GRUB manual --> http://www.gnu.org/software/grub/man...roubleshooting You'll have to figure out what error, exactly, you received.

From the grub manual:
Quote:
13 : Invalid or unsupported executable format
This error is returned if the kernel image being loaded is not recognized as Multiboot or one of the supported native formats (Linux zImage or bzImage, FreeBSD, or NetBSD).
What is your setup? Do you have:
Ubuntu installed as only OS?
Dual boot Windows and Ubuntu?
Multiboot Ubuntu, plus other linux distros, and / or Windows?
Do you have one hard drive or more than one hard drive?

When do you get this error? When booting Ubuntu? Windows? or something else? There are many variables here; and you need to clarify your situaltion.

Can you answer those questions? And please post your: /boot/grub/menu.lst
and the output of:
Code:
sudo fdisk -l
You really need to provide complete information if you want a meaningful answer.
