easyUbuntu does not launch (no error message given)
Hello. I installed easyUbuntu for the first time today following the instructions given at the easyubuntu webpage.
Everything went smoothly, but when I go to "Applications -> System Tools -> easyubuntu" and click, absolutelly nothing happens.
I also tried to run it using the following:
Code:
wget http://easyubuntu.freecontrib.org/files/easyubuntu-3.023.tar.gz
tar -zxf easyubuntu-3.023.tar.gz
cd easyubuntu
sudo python easyubuntu.in
But I got this error:
Code:
Password:
System sanity check: PASSED!
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "easyubuntu.in", line 51, in ?
main()
File "easyubuntu.in", line 45, in main
gtkfrontend.launcher(datadir, confdir)
File "/home/hemoglobina/easyubuntu/EasyUbuntu/gtkfrontend.py", line 181, in launcher
pkglist = minidom.parse(os.path.join(datadir, 'packagelist-%s.xml' % codename()))
File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/_xmlplus/dom/minidom.py", line 1915, in parse
return expatbuilder.parse(file)
File "/usr/lib/python2.4/site-packages/_xmlplus/dom/expatbuilder.py", line 924, in parse
fp = open(file, 'rb')
IOError: [Errno 2] No such file or directory: './packagelist-edgy.xml'
I'm running Gnome 2.16.1 and ubuntu 6.10
Thank you for your help,
HEMOglobina

I've never tried EasyUbuntu, but I've had no trouble with Automatix. Now thats "I" haven't had any trouble with it. I found out last night in #ubuntu that apparently a lot of people have had trouble with it. For me, and several others I know, its worked fine...
