Has anybody on this forum been having problems playing dvds ? DVD playback for me in Warty ( Ubuntu's previous version ) was good , fast with no problems
but when I upgraded to Hoary Hedgehog ,DVDs where unwatcheable.
I found the solution and had to do with enabling DMA for my DVD drive :
"hdparm -d1 /dev/hdd"
I'm just wondering if this affected anyone else or if there was a setup option
that I forgot to set during setup.
If you had problems similar to this ,its probably DMA on the drive .
