Where you're asked to provide your login details (GDM), change the session from Default or Gnome to KDE, then you're away.

I'm assuming that you're running Ubuntu and that you installed KDE correctly by opening the terminal and typing:

Code:
sudo apt-get install kubuntu-desktop
If so, during installation, you are prompted for which desktop manager you want to be the default- select kdm. When installation is complete, you'll need to restart X. At the login screen, type your user name and password, then click 'menu' and select KDE. (first time only.)

Cheers

Thanks, it worked and I tried KDE. I had installed by add remove programs, and on restart opted for KDE.

However back in Gnome, the resolution has gone astray. So I am doing another thread.
