Disable Power Save Text Mode ?

I can't seem to figure it out.. I'm having a gameserver running in text mode on Ubuntu 6.06.. For some reason my monitor will go to sleep after 20mins. So i started searching in the BIOS at my power management.. After i disabled all the power save options in the BIOS, the monitor still goes to sleep after 20mins.. Is there something in Ubuntu itself i have to disable ? I found tons of threads on google but all for X :|

Thanks...

What you want to do is disable the dpms powersaving function. In X you do it with "xset -dpms", and you can make it permanent by editing the dpms line in the monitor section of your xorg.conf file.

I'm not sure how to do it in text mode, but there is a program called vbetool that says it can toggle it. I've never tried it myself though.

It works great after a BIOS update.. Thanks..
