Disable copy-paste on middle mouse button
im sure this is a simple fix. it is driving me crazy. i hold down the middle mouse button to scroll but then when i let off it of course its pastes what ever is on the clipboard into the url box and then it trys to load the "website":o

You kidding me? The middle button paste is the most useful thing I have ever seen. Drives me freaking bonkers when I try doing it on a Windows box and it doesn't work. I suggest going to your local computer store and dropping 10-20 bucks on a mouse with a scroll wheel. Then you can scroll and paste.
As for your question, I am not sure, and I suppose it would depend on which DE you are using. I suppose you could set your mouse as a regular two button mouse but that would presumably kill scrolling to... In any event, get back to us with which DE you are using and maybe someone can give you a better answer. |

oh i forgot, im using kubuntu. my mouse has the scroll wheel. depending on my mood i guess i use either the scroll wheel or the middle button, yea i dont get it either. although i do find the pasting convenient i just cant get out of the habit of using the same button to scroll  |
Are you talking about Firefox, or KDE in general?

if you're competent to do this without completely screwing up Firefox, the answer is to enter "about:config" in the url window, and tweak whatever settings you like. The settings your question addresses start with "middlemouse..."
