Disable bulletproof or similar for headless ubuntu server

I run a ubuntu server in my house but I like having the GUI there for various reasons. I use VNC and SSH to manage the server.

My main problem is that when I restart it it demands I have a monitor attached.

At present I don't have a spare monitor to keep it company.

Is there any way to disable the annoying safe mode type message that comes on at boot when no monitor is connected.

Regards,

EDIT: I should clarify I need X running to use certain programs. Also I'm somewhat of a newb and need GUI access.

When you state the "restart it it demands I have a monitor attached" is this just for login?

If so try autologin which can be found (in CentOS) under Administration / Login Screen - Security Tab.

This works fine.

Alternatively input user/password "blind". Just time the server for a normal boot cycle. Wait for HD activity to stop, input user and password... work fine too.
