Deleting protected files

I have been trying to solve a display problem and as a result I have several versions of xorg.conf. To avoid the possibility of future confusion I want to delete the unwanted files.
I have changed the permission using "sudo chmod" but still cannot delete (rm for remove) and get a message saying that I don't have the necessary permission. Can someone help me out please.

Hi,

Code:
sudo rm file_unwanted

Since xorg.conf is owned by root, the only thing you need is to delete the files as root.

Regards
