Dbus and Beryl issues

Hey all,

I recently installed ubuntu 7.04 and beryl. I followed the instructions on ubuntuguide.org and everything went fine. The problem is that when I run beryl-manager I get the following error and my open windows are locked in place without a toolbar at the top... I am using a laptop with an nvidia go 7200 and here is the error:

Code:
hewi28@ab3n:~$ sudo beryl-manager

Couldn't initialise dbus. This should not happen!

I had the same issue and this is how I solved it.

Just add this line under Section "Screen" in your xorg.conf

Option "AddARGBGLXVisuals" "True"

restart x and you should get your title bar back.

Thanks for the reply, but my xorg.conf already had that line in there. Any other suggestions?

I'm sure that you have all needed dbus packages installed, right?
Just start Synaptic and see if some dbus packages are missing.

I think so:

Code:
hewi28@ab3n:/opt/vpnclient$ sudo apt-get install dbus
Reading package lists... Done
Building dependency tree
Reading state information... Done
dbus is already the newest version.
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.
