Crop image with Gimp

I can not figure out how to crop an image with Gimp.

Neither autocrop or zealous crop work.

Windows let's you drag the sides in to crop.

Does Gimp have an equivalent option ?

The easiest way to crop images with The Gimp is the cutter-tool. The standard keyboard shortcut for the function is Shift+C.
First you draw a case around the section of the image that you want to keep, then you can manipulate the borders to make the section fit exactly: Just approach a border or a corner with the mouse-pointer from inside the case, then draw the appearing zones to where you need it.

When the case has the right size and position, click into it. The rest of the picture disappears and you can save or export the new version.

Tell me, if this was a usable explanation, else I make a screen-cast.

Addition: More ways to crop images exist and they may be more adapted to the task at hand, sometimes. If you need an exact size (in pixels or other) you can first adapt the canvas, than make gimp cut the image-layers to fit in.
