Man idk what's up, i checked to see if it boots without the USB drive and it doesn't, it boots back to the Ubuntu terminal, what do I do?? Shits driving me baty!
The default AntiX passwords are found at https://antixlinux.com/quick-tips/ - that page is both in the AntiX website's main menu and can be found by putting "antix password" into a search engine.
If you haven't set a password and removing the USB drive means AntiX doesn't boot, that likely means you didn't install AntiX yet. (There is a difference between running Live and installing to hard-drive.)
(Also, There is a question regarding setting date and time in the AntiX FAQ which may or not be relevant.)
Also, if you are abandoning Ubuntu and going with AntiX, you should state so clearly, and then start a new clean thread for any AntiX-related issues in the AntiX section.
Did you actually go through the install process?
Did you select regular install to the entire disk?
Install grub to the MBR (which is the default)
You should of seen a screen to set the time zone.
You should of seen a screen to enter a regular user name and password plus the option to create a root password.
After you enter the requested information you can select enter without waiting for a prompt from the installer.
Well I know it installed grub, from what I read said so anyways, I'm going to put the USB back and see if I can get all those things you mentioned, sorry about the short post to, I didn't know and thank you for which direction to go one this install and creating a new thread for just antiX, man you really have been a Hugh help and I so appreciate it, I've always wanted a straight Linux OS, I like running command, this been a life long hobby of mine but had to wait for the right time, "old CPU" and new at the same time. From now on this will be the last message in this thread, I will look you up for help in this antiX thread I make, thanks Mike!
