Console Resolution/Media Buttons on Laptop

Hi,

I just bought a new Sony Vaio TX laptop and I have a few questions.

First off, I was reccommended Ubuntu by a friend. I am a slacker on my desktop machine and server, but when installing it on the laptop nothing seemed to go right. With Ubuntu it all worked, including the Fn key. Yay!

Anyway, GNOME launched straight into 1368x768 as its resolution, just what my laptop needs. However the console is in something (I am guessing 1024x768 but I am not sure). I wanted to get my console up to 1368x768 too. I am running the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900, and lspci returns it as: Intel Corp. Mobile Graphics Controller (rev 03)

Any ideas on how to get my console up to the right resolution? I use lilo on slack and you use a vga=794 etc to get it there, but I have no idea about the numbers needed for widescreen :)

The other question is I have 5 media buttons on the top of the keyboard. Play Stop etc. These are useless to me, other than the Eject button for the DVD burner. The laptop itself has the stupidest little button for the eject mechanism and it would be useful to map this to eject it, but I have no idea how to go about doing this.

Any help for either problem is greatly appriciated :)
