Configuring X on *buntu-8.10
What is the correct way to take full control in comparison to *buntu 8.04?
In kubuntu, 'display settings' is too incomplete (as indicated in the kde site as well) An interesting link is http://who-t.blogspot.com/2008/07/in...-nutshell.html Otherwise, there is some documentation. |
I had problems on one of my computers using an old
Compaq TFT5005 monitor, so I just reused the xorg.conf from "Sabayon" for Ubuntu 8.04.1 and 8.10 . Another easy way to generate a new xorg.conf is to run the livecd with PCLinuxOS2007 (or MiniMe2008) and save the xorg.conf to USB-key or to Google-Docs. You will have to uncomment line 30 : # # Load "type1" Then it works perfect in ubuntu. Regards |
I just put in my custom xorg.conf file (in 8.04) into the 8.10 system and everything worked fine.
