configuring thunderbird or evolution...

hay guys whats up...
i was dying to register in this forum coz its really cool.

i'm new to ubuntu and the whole linux world so your gonna have to walk with me step by step if you please...

but first i'd like to express my thanks to the people who made ubuntu 7.04 coz i was using ubuntu 5.10 and its really hard in that version to deal with every thing from handling your system to download extras and stuff especially for a newbie like me....the self-recognition of the missing plugins and codecs and stuff like which was added to fiesty fawn is so wonderful ..so thank you guys for the effort...

now..could any one of you guys explain to me how to configure evolution or thunderbird ...i'm trying to get the servers configured but i cant seem to manage it....i dont know whats the differens between the outgoing server and the incoming one....i dont know if they are the same...
i know it involves my network provider ...but i dont know if it does not as neither....

pleas help me..i really would like to use a program like that...

thanks

Hi and welcome to LQ.

Your outgoing server us usually something like smtp.someisp.com and your incoming server would be something like pop.someisp.com. You could ring your ISP and ask for precise details (or check on their website for tips on setting up email clients).
