compile a programm error
I tried compile a programm but the output of :/configure was:
checking how to run the C++ preprocessor... /lib/cpp
configure: error: C++ preprocessor "/lib/cpp" fails sanity check
I think that it misses any package concerned with c++.
Who knows the problem?

Hi,
Is cpp installed?
which cpp
You should end up with: /usr/bin/cpp (or alike), not something like: which: no cpp in (/bin:/usr/.........
If it is installed, is there a link from /lib/cpp to /usr/bin/cpp?
ls -l /lib/cpp
Something like this should appear: lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 14 May 29 2004 /lib/cpp -> ../usr/bin/cpp
Hope this helps.

Hi,
What does adding the --verbose option tell you? You could do a cpp --verbose, but you probably need to do a ctrl-c at the end (if you get that far).

Did you check to see if /usr/bin/cpp-3.3 is there?
Could it be a version compatibility problem? Mine has 4.0 installed...

In Ubuntu, you need to install the build-essential package before compiling will work:
Code:
sudo aptitude install build-essential
--Ian
