Changing ctrl + alt + del
 

What is the easiest way to modify ctrl + alt + del key combo so it does not restart, but brings up the equivilant of a task manager?

So far my research has referred to inittab and /etc/event.d, both of which do not exist in xubuntu 10.4

1. Disable it in /etc/inittab
2. Create a keyboard shortcut to it in GNOME desktop settings

3. Drink hard

Are you using Gnome (i.e. Ubuntu, rather than (X|K)ubuntu)?

If so, go to System > Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts. You should be able to change it in there.

Edited to add: though I've just taken a look at the applet in Debian, and there wasn't an option for anything task-manager-like. Might need some searching to find out how to add an option to this. B.T.W. - the "equivalent of task manager" you're looking for is probably gnome-system-monitor.

I'm running xfce with xubuntu, and as I said no inittab file is present.
