cant run desktop apps as root [Gtk-WARNING **]


hi, i cant seem to run any application that requires the desktop as root.

Code:
tidiman07@Box2:~$ sudo kate
.......

Starting SCIM as daemon ...

(scim-panel-gtk:17741): Gtk-WARNING **: cannot open display: :0.0
i get this error whenever tryin to open anything with sudo.
the open application freezes.

nevermind, it seems that i have to use kdesu . sudo was working just fine before. oh well.
