I am trying to increase my resolution higher than 640x480.
I am a noob.
I have 2 monitors plugged into my radeon 9800 pro: 24" Dell LCD widescreen, and 17" SVA LCD.

When I go to screen resolution it says refresh rate is "-17133" htz, which i find impossible. Also res is stuck at 640x480

Please Note: Dell 24" is in DVI port, SVA 17" is analog port

I've had this problem before with ATI cards, and fixed it by using the proprietary drivers

Go to http://ati.amd.com/support/driver.html and download both the driver and the installer appropriate for your system, install the driver using the installer, and see if that helps...
