Can you change the desktop icon default size?

Windows 7 has a great feature that you can use Ctrl scroll wheel to resize the icons on the desktop.

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS with 3D, and have set the Launcher icon size, but I don't see anything immediately obvious and easy for the desktop icons.

Has Ubuntu got any means of easily setting the icon size?

Thanks for the reply!

The first link doesn't work for me, as gconf-editor -> apps -> nautilus -> preferences -> icon_view isn't there (I think they took it out in 12.x).

The 2nd one did it - open a folder, then go Edit -> Preferences -> Default zoom level. (The Preferences option isn't on the desktop Edit menu, but doing it within a folder also applies it to the desktop...)
