Can not boot to desktop

When booting into Edgy Eft Gnome freezes and will not load desktop. After I log in the splash screen freezes and will not finish loading. I can still switch between terminals but I can not get to my desktop. What can I do?

Try looking at the /var/log/Xorg.0.log. If there are X-server errors, they will appear at the end of this log file. Knowing what the errors, if any, are will likely make the problem easier to diagnose.

A copy of your /etc/X11/xorg.conf file might also be helpful. We'll want to determine which display driver is being used.

Those errors aren't the cause of your problem. Ubuntu is configured by default to look for a Wacom graphics tablet, but you don't have one. I have the same error messages on my Ubuntu rigs, and they don't cause any trouble.
