before you start the vm....select your target vm and then click on the settings icon.....click on usb and tick (check x mark) the usb and usb 2 boxes
2) umount the usb in your host....I hope its not ubuntu....go back to mandriva and try 2008.1 (heh heh)
no matter what distro....the host is not to have hold of it....so its unmounted in the host, understand?
then boot up vm.....but do not enter it.....at the top....click on devices and select usb and you should have an option showing your usb stick....click on it and it should change to a tick
.....then click into the vm and depending on what the vm is....access the stick
