I'm sorry, my friend, I'm stummped!
At this stage, I would re-install. How deep into your OS are you? I mean, have you had it very long? Can you re-install without having to backup a bunch of stuff? How did you get the OS? Downloaded iso, Live CD from ubuntu? If it was an iso, download it again and verify that all is good before burning it. Then install again. Thats just what I would do. Sorry Friend. Strange. Very strange. |

And I did not mean that the link that I provided is exactly what your problem is. It only COULD be related. So start there and eliminate possibilities. OR, what I would do is re-install. |
What is the output of ls /etc/apt/
|
adamf4i@adamf4i:~$ ls /etc/apt/
apt.conf preferences sources.list sources.list.save trusted.gpg apt.conf.d secring.gpg sources.list.d trustdb.gpg trusted.gpg~ |
# rm /etc/apt/preferences ...
then try apt-get update again |
adamf4i ... this is the fourth multi-post bout you've
started. I strongly suggest that you quit this, re-read our rules and just play by them. Cheers, Tink |

I hope so, My Friend, cuz I Love ubuntu and want you to have the same experience that I am having! My first install was from an iso that I downloaded from www.distrowatch.com Then I ordered a couple of free cd's from ubuntu (one for Mac, for my friend, and one for me) Don't give up! |
