Can't stop fast typing double letters from "skipping" one of the letters.

Ubuntu 12.04, all updates instaled.

When I type a word that contains "double letters" things "stall/miss letter" and I have to go back and inter the second letter again! This is a terrible "PITA".
It is not an ocasional thing, but a constant occurence!

Also, when trying to use the backspace by holding down, it freezes, you have to wait a second and then backspace "one" letter at a time

Does anyone know what is going on and how to fix?

I went to the link you provided but I do "not' know how to enter the script whatsoever. I ned someone to tell me exactly what to do as one proceeds to write the script, save it, create the executable, and enter it.

I ned some hand holding. In fact I don't even know if the script wil work since you never replied that it worked.

This problem is so frustrating that I am starting to think about leaving linux if I can't get it solved!
