Can't adjust sound
Ubuntu 5.10 gnome
onboard soundcard I can't adjust the volume? It's very loud, quality is fine though. I got no control in the Master settings or XMMS. In Master volume I can't do anything, in XMMS I can at least turn it off, but if it's set too 1% or 100% does not make a difference. Just installed ubuntu yesterday but I think this is my own doing since I install some codec, unsure. Sorry know theres a lot of sound questions, but I didn't find anything I understood. Thank you Tried to reinstall gnome-volume-control. Tried to change the device from Alsa to OSS Mixer. Now I get an error ones in a while error failed to open audio out: OSS Driver 1.2.10 Other then that it's like before, still working but can't adjust the sound level. Got it :) XMMS -> Options -> Preferences -> Output Plugin -> Change OSS Driver too ALSA Driver ....opps |
You were probably getting OSS errors, because its modulized in your kernel, and you never loaded the module. Congrats on fixing your own problem.
