Why do you think you need to remove your thread after solving the problem? Why not leave it and post the solution, so you can possibly help others?

ok see, in /etc/network/interfaces , there is an entry where we can specfic the dns server.
In /etc/resolv.conf , we can also specfic the dns server.

By default, the resolv.conf apply, so when we do need to specfic it in /etc/network/interfaces ?

Thanks.

/etc/resolv.conf takes precedence but it can be overwritten by obtaining DNS servers from the DHCP server. You could also have multiple NIC cards using different DNS servers, that's why you can specify it per NIC.
