Can't access network printer through UFW

I just installed Ubuntu server 8.04, set up a print server using cups, then tried out UFW but can't access my printer from other machines on my network. I am lost when it comes to iptables so that's why I tried UFW.

I allowed port 631 and even tried to allow ipp. I have to disable UFW in order to print.

Make sure port 631 is open. I'm pretty sure that's the CUPS port.

I've never used UFW but can't you just enable logging to see what is going on?

Try firestarter!
This is the easiest way to configure your firewall.
it will tell you when you have blocked something and give you the option to allow the traffic.
