Broadcom 64-bit wireless driver problem

I recently decided to give Ubuntu x64 a try on my desktop. I managed to find a set of working 64bit windows drivers for my Belkin 54g pci wireless card. I use ndiswrapper, and it detects the card. Heck, even after I get done modprobing, etc, etc, I can see available networks and everything. After I set up ubuntu to connect my network, nothing happens! I try to access a page in firefox and I get nothing. Any ideas?

Do you have wireless-tools and wpa_supplicant installed?
It sounds like your device is working fine, but you need to set up either the encryption so it matches your router, or set up networking.

If your desktop doesn't authenticate, then the DHCP client will not be able to connect to the routers DHCP server, which means that you won't have an IP address, netmask, or name server address. This assumes that you are using DHCP.

I have whatever came stock with ubuntu 5.10. Once my driver is wrapped, the wireless card shows up under the networking dialogue. I'm using 64bit wep (I know, weak), so I don't need to wpa_supplicant. I enter the proper key, and then try to activate. I am using dhcp, so I still am not sure what's wrong. Would I still need the wireless-tolls package?
