Question banner command


Hi all,

can anyone give me a practical situation in which banner command is used ?

Sounds like a (lame) homework question to me.

Think: what does the banner command do? Why would you want to do that? There's your practical application.

think in shell scripts that have menu systems,

also think in shell scrips that recurse through directories, especially if they print a lot of output...


i have used it many times for sutch things
