ATI Driver issues
Heh,
Sorry to bring this ever-occurring problem on everyone again, but I'm having issues setting up fglrx on kubuntu. I've followed several HOWTOs, including an excellent one at www.ubuntuforums.org, but to no avail... flgrxinfo still states: OpenGL vendor string: Mesa project: www.mesa3d.org OpenGL renderer string: Mesa GLX Indirect OpenGL version string: 1.2 (1.5 Mesa 6.2.1) The above of course should be filled with ATI information. I've got an ATI 9600SE, and i'm running kernel 2.6.10-5-386. Any ideas or help from people who've had a similar problem? |

haha cheers,
never can be too many. I'll take a look. |
nope, no luck there either :S
And i'm looking for something that doesnt involve fglrxconfig anyway, as i prefer to edit my files manually. |
well......i don't think we have much option when it comes to drivers..........i wish there was a way to emulate windows drivers, as wine does for emulating windows programs
indeed, i should be asking the linux community if they know of such emulator; i am having problems myself with a quickcam and an old printer. if not, then a plea to linux developers to start working on such emulator. this way, hardware compatability would seize to render as a major setback in migrating to linux. |
Hell, just ATI providing better drivers would be nice... Nvidia's kick some serious butt. Which brings me to think that oh well, nvidia it is for my next card :S
Difficult when you don't have any money of course :P |
