ata 6:SRST failed (errno:-16)

I'm running Kubuntu Jaunty on a AMD64 box with a Samsung SATA HD. Recently when booting I've got the following error appear right after the bootloader:
Quote:
ata 6:SRST failed (errno:-16)
I've Googled for information but the symptoms reported by others seem to be a bit different from mine. For example it continues to boot after the error and doesn't drop me to a busy box shell.

mark@mark-desktop:~$ uname -ar
Linux mark-desktop 2.6.28-11-generic #42-Ubuntu SMP Fri Apr 17 01:58:03 UTC 2009 x86_64 GNU/Linux
mark@mark-desktop:~$
According to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+s...ux/+bug/220706 it looks like it could be hardware related and I have been connecting and disconnecting the hard drive recently but it does seem persistent. Does anyone have any ideas?
