Asunder and lame

Hi,

I've installed asunder CD ripper in ubuntu 11.04 to rip cd's in mp3 format, but when I select the MP3 format asunder complains that it cannot find the lame encoder, eventhough it is installed and I also installed the restricted multiverse extra's. How can I still rip to MP3 format with asunder?

I do not have this problem on Lubuntu 11.04. Are you using the Asunder 2.0 version from the default Ubuntu repos? Or did you install Asunder from one of those PPA repos or something?
In addition to lame, make sure you have libmp3lame0 installed.
Are you able to rip to ogg or flac with asunder? Is it just mp3 that is the problem?

Install the aptitude package manager and post the output of:
Code:
aptitude search lame
For reference here is what I get with this command:
Code:
tom@desktop:/data$ aptitude search lame

Only the OP can mark this thread "solved". Please do so. You will find that function under "thread tools" at the top right of the page.

This allows the other users to use a forum search for this problem (which they may have) and see a related thread that is solved.

It also saves folks that may want to help the trouble of opening the thread.
