aptitude vs apt-get

Is there any advantage in using aptitude install <filename> vs. apt-get <filename>?

I'm not 100% on this but, if you use "aptitude install [package]" there is no difference with "apt-get install [package]"
But if you do "aptitude remove [package]" with something that you installed with "aptitude install" it will also remove the dependences, "apt-get remove" wont.

As far as I know, aptitude is just a command-line user interface (i.e. "a frontend") for apt ("apt-get").

EDIT: just read some APT usage help from a website - apt-get removes the dependencies too, not just adept (like binary_y2k2 said). The website (from Debian) stated this:

Quote:
--APT also takes care of removing packages which depend on the package you have asked to remove. There is no way to remove a package using APT without also removing those packages that depend on it.
http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/ap...pt-get.en.html

..also just stumbled across this thread at LQ:

Search first.
