Any tutorials on how to create one's own pre-packaged ubuntu .iso?
 

Are there any in-depth tutorials that explain how to prepare one's own ubuntu installation .iso, complete with all the necessary software already included and preconfigured? Thank you.

You might try Systemback. You haven't indicated which release of Ubuntu you are using. The link below explains how to get it if you are using 18.04 or newer and how to use it. If you have an earlier version of Ubuntu, you should be able to add the :ppa to download it.

Years ago, there was a program called remastersys that existed for just that purpose. It was dropped, but, apparently, it's been forked. You might check out this article: https://askubuntu.com/questions/8388...n-ubuntu-16-04

Oh, my bad. I am using Ubuntu 14.04. It is intended to run ROS Indigo (which only supports 14.04), so there is no easy way around it.

That would have been useful information to put in your initiall post. Have you done an online search for "remaster Ubuntu 14.04"? One problem you will have is that you are using an unsupported release of Ubuntu so the standard install methods using apt-get or a :ppa won't work as you will need to find the Ubuntu archives for 14.04. Systemback, PinGuy Builder and even remastersys should work, remastersys if you can find it as it has not been in development for years. Apparently, PinGuy Builder is forked from Remastersys. I used all of them to create bootable iso files of different Ubuntu's on 14.04.
