Always Exclude in Updates

If I want to always exclude xorg updates in Xubuntu, what is the easiest way to do that. I still want to receive automatic updates and whatnot I just don't want a new Xorg. I've had problems in the past with xorg updating and either losing video, or receiving buggy video output.
Is there an easy method to do this?

You can tell APT to hold a package.

"hold" is echo packagename hold|dpkg --set-selections
revert with: echo packagename install|dpkg --set-selections

The only problem you may run into is when another package needs xorg in order to update.

You can also try pinning the apps you do not want upgraded:

Will this work with Xubuntu Update Manager and/or Synaptic? Will it become permanent?
