Alt+Tab not working in Ubuntu 7.04
Alt+Tab key combination is not working on my Ubuntu 7.04 machine. It used to work earlier but now it has stopped working. It's very annoying as i have to use mouse to switch between applications all the time.
Any ideas? |

1 - First, see if the alt+tab is enabled. Do so by System>Preferences>Keyboard Shortcuts and check some settings there. 2 - If suggestions #1 didn't work, try to create a new user and login with that user. If alt+tab works for that user, then most likely you've installed some application which messed the alt+tab settings (like a fancy 3d effects), so try disabling it/them. Regards! |
hey thanks for the reply!
i'll try this and post back soon. |
Shift+Alt+Up followed by Shift+Alt+Left/Right performs a similar funtion.

I tried using alt-tab by creating a new user login and it worked.
I think compiz messed up my alt+tab. I uninstalled compiz but the problem persists in my default user login. @fragos,the key combination u mentioned doesn't work at my end. |
8.04 Keyboard Shortcut Preferences have this "Action -- Initiate Window Picker" and defaults it to Shift-Alt-Up. Perhaps it's not in the version you're running. Alt-Tab is also defined here as "Action -- Move between windows with popup". Check to see if the "Shrtcts" for those "Actions" have been changed.

i think those options must only be in 8.04. I am using 7.04. The keyboard option for alt+tab is ok but it still doesn't work.
Now, i am using a different user login for using alt+tab :) |
