Question All Video players crashing on running any video content

I had been playing some .flv videos on my 10.04.2 system, in VLC. While they were playing fine, the player closed as soon as I loaded the video. I tried running other videos(VCD, MP4, Real Videos) as well, but they were also not running.I had also tried "movie player" and "SMPlayer" and they all give the same problem. with the exception of SMplayer , that It playing the files at low resolution.

Try launching VLC from terminal then open file that crashes and see what messages you get on terminal after it crashes.
