adept update manager

For some reason I lost my adept update manager icon and I cannot seem to find update manager in the start menu. I believe I removed while trying to remove something else from the task bar or whatever the menu bar across the bottom of the screen is called. I am running Kubuntu 7.04

Open Konsole and type "sudo adept".

If you just want to add an entry to the menu you can right click the menu button then start KMenu (don't know if this work on Kubuntu). There you can add an entry for adept.

Yeah that works to add adept but doesn't add the update manager to the screen. I will have to keep looking for the answer. I know my other computer has updated twice since I messed with the settings on this one.

if its just the icon missing, right click on the panel the select add applet to panel, a window will pop up the select adept manager from the list, add to panel then ok, this will give you a shortcut to the application on the kde panels

I finally got it fixed. After trying to uninstall and reinstall notifier several times with no luck I got a suggestion from someone at Kubuntu's forum.
"Try running "adept_notifier", by pressing Alt+F2 and typing in that command."
After running that command it icon appeared and my system updated itself.

I don't think icon is suppose to be seen unless there's an update available. Mine comes up as a green orb.
The installer and the updater are 2 separate functions. It was confusing for me at first, after using FC4.
