Adding LVM to menu in Hardy Heron desktop version
 

I used Synaptic to install LVM2 on Hardy Heron but it doesn't seem to have created a menu entry for itself. There were no error messages. Can someone tell me how to do this?

Yes, Hardy has a few quirks that need ironed out, but I'll give it a go...

Open Applications->Accessories->Alacarte Menu Editor and see if the menu item is there, but disabled.

I haven't had a look on Hardy, but are you expecting a GUI interface ???. Where did you get that idea ???.
Nothing on gutsy I can see.
