add/remove programs
hi there,
i was wondering if ubuntu had a add/remove programs option like in rhel/fedora? or a way of seeing what is installed on the system/what can be installed on the system? |
In console mode you have Aptitude, in graphics mode Synaptdunno of a ic.
I have only used Aptitude, it seems simple and manage packages even better than apt-get alone. |
I've been using:
apt-cache apt-get dpkg -S And something else (which I can't think of off the top of my head) to learn about packages... because of issues with Mozilla (making a post about that now). |

I don't rememeber exactly, but there was something similar to the stuff you talking about in Ubuntu. (I happened to use it for a Day) But then, you always have Synaptic to your rescue. Install Synaptic. apt-get install synaptic as root. |
