I have intermittent failure on my Ubuntu 14.04 VM (VirtualBox) installation

echo oracle-java8-installer shared/accepted-oracle-license-v1-1 select true | debconf-set-selections && \
add-apt-repository -y ppa:webupd8team/java
...
Cannot add PPA: 'ppa:webupd8team/java'.
This only happens sometimes so I am not been able to "root cause" the problem so far. I tried to run "add-apt-repository" with "-m" ( for "massive debugging" from help) but didn't get any additional info. How can i identify the couse? Any ideas?

do you mean to the sources.list? I tried that with the same result - in most cases it works, sometimes it fails. The main issue is that i have no idea when it does fail
